Description

"Often people talk about taking time off as a luxury and going to work at their office or factory or restaurant as a drag. That kind of separation makes things hard. If there is any way at all that you can make friends with your business, that is the number one starting point of maitri, which means having a loving, kind attitude to oneself."—Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche

In 1978, about seventy-five members of Karma Dzong (now the Boulder Shambhala Center) interested in business gathered for a meeting with Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Vajra Regent Ösel Tendzin at the old Karma Dzong shrine hall at 1111 Pearl Street. John Roper, one of the directors of Vajradhatu (now Shambhala), opened the meeting. Over the next three years the group continued to gather for teachings. The result is these four inspiring and insightful talks on the Shambhala vision of business and money (February and August 1978, July 1979, and June 1981).
