“Unless we are very advanced, death is always going to be an unknown situation, and somewhat frightening. As Shambhalians, it is important for us to understand the death process and be familiar with it.”—from the Commentary, Aspirational Liturgies

Aspirational Liturgies for the Dying Process & the Intermediate State includes two texts by the Kongma Sakyong, Jampal Trinley Dradül. The Armor of Fearlessness is an aspirational chant for the dying process and the bardo. It can be practiced by the person who is dying as well as by the people around them.

The Ceremony of the Shambhala Pure Realm is a funeral liturgy. There are different pure realms that can be accessed through wisdom-mind, and one can make aspiration to go to these realms. In order for warriors to progress on the journey of awakenment, they aspire to be reborn near the doctrine of awakenment and the path of warriorship. Thus, calling upon the Rigdens, one can enter the pure lands of Shambhala.

The booklet includes a commentary by the Sakyong and instructions for the funeral ceremony.
